Description

Lovable Letters uses the cognitive approach of using a variety of the senses to help the learner process what the letters look like: so they have a reliable way of retaining this information until it has been transferred from their short -term (working) memory to their long-term memory.

When you order Lovable Letters, you will automatically receive a power-point of the rhymes and songs being told and sung - followed by a paper copy of the photocopiable booklet containing visuals of the 7 letter groups and a 'How to use Lovable Letters' manual, which incorporates a short, 9 -part story. Each part can be read before the rhyme and song for the chosen group of letters is practised. Please practise each of the 7 groups until the letters have become 'automatic'.

Additional songs have been included to inspire the learners to want to match / make the rainbow alphabet on each page of the booklet. Once this has been achieved (you will see how proud your learner is) the enclosed letter sets can be used to spell and read the words the learner has chosen to make (curiosity approach) or been guided to make by their teacher.

I have purposely had plastic letter sets made rather than wood to keep the cost down: so that more children can hopefully be helped. They are also easier to slide into position and have been made in 2 colours, depending on whether the letters are vowels or consonants.

Lovable Letters has supported children’s handwriting brilliantly during hand writing interventions. The rhymes have supported and engaged children with letter formation; impacting on relative size and shape. Lovable Letters has been an excellent additional resource to support children with their handwriting and letter formation.Jerry Clay Academy, Wakefield - Part of Accomplish MAT - Jerry Clay English Hub
After trialling Lovable Letters with children of various ages who are dyslexic or have adhd and seeing how much they loved doing it, resulting in them growing in confidence and making exciting progress...we have decided to implement Lovable Letters as an intervention in all classes from September.
